Featherweight Maintenance and Other Vintage Machines Spa Day Hands-On Workshop Do you own a Featherweight Sewing Machine? Or another vintage machine? Do you want to sew with your precious vintage machine? Haven’t used it in years? Want to learn to maintain it yourself? This is the class for you. Featherweight and Vintage Machine Maintenance Spa Day! Your paid registration includes a beginner cleaning kit. We will have Featherweight specific maintenance supplies on hand available for purchase the day of the class. In this hands-on interactive workshop you will learn how to service your Featherweight and other vintage sewing machines yourself. You will develop the skill set to clean, oil, and grease the proper locations to keep your machine running in tip top shape. You will also learn some tricks to sewing with your machine and gain confidence in using it on a regular basis, if you so desire. You will feel empowered and ready for your next quilt or project. Please arrive 15 minutes early to prepare your machine for class. We will practice your new skill set so you are comfortable enough to start piecing a quilt top or your next sewing adventure. As we wrap up the day, we will review the accessories/feet that came with your machine as well. This will provide you with some background knowledge and ideas for using your feet and attachments. (We do have low shank vintage feet available for purchase.) Anyone occupying a seat during class, must have a paid registration. Each person is allowed to bring a limit of one machine. We do not accept cancellations within 14 days of the class. No refunds will be given. Supplies for Featherweight/Vintage Machine Maintenance Class Featherweight or other Vintage Sewing Machine with foot controller/power cord All feet, attachments, and accessories such as screwdrivers (if you have them) Thread - 2 colors (available at quilt shop for purchase) Empty bobbins (2 if you have them) New universal needles (available at quilt shop for purchase) Large old towels (2) Microfiber towel Scraps to practice your stitching Scissors Lamp/flashlight Apron/safety goggles (optional) Gloves (optional) Manual (if you have it) Post-its or paper for notes (optional) *Snack/lunch/drink for break time
